Coconut is mostly put in the form of coconut oil in handmade coconut soaps. Coconut oil is a popular ingredient in handmade soaps’ recipe. This is because it is a hard oil. Hence, it helps in hardening of the soap bar. It also produces rich and foamy lather.
Coconut oil also adds the following marvelous benefits to the handmade soaps:
- The soap becomes an excellent moisturizing agent. This keeps the skin soft and supple
- The rich and foamy lather help in cleaning off the dirt and dead skins from the skin
- Such soaps help in acne reduction. This is because coconut oil makes the soap anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory
- The soaps keep the skin young, fresh and wrinkle-free. Since, the coconut oil makes the soap rich in anti-oxidants.

The word coconut in itself generates an image of rich brown coconut with the back ground of fresh green leaves and a tropical season. For long, it has been used as an integral part of various skin and hair care products.
