This section defines the process that we follow for making our pure and natural handcrafted soaps.
So, we have observed that most of us turn to nature, hills or beaches, to relax and to take break from the daily grind of our much hectic lives. A reason why weekend getaways and staycations are trending. Nature always comes to the rescue. This is why we only use pure and natural ingredients in all of our soap recipes. We want your everyday bathing experience to be a respite from household chores, daily meetings, work and updates.
Since, the ingredients are pure in their form, it becomes all the more important to treat them carefully. Therefore, we use the age old mechanism of making the soaps via cold process methodology.
This method does not involve any heat. In this method, we make the soap by whipping the ingredients in calculated form. The ingredients include, base oils, essential oils, clay and any other natural element. All the ingredients are free of animal based products and hence, are 100 per cent vegan. Following this method, also makes it easier to make artistic designs on the soap bars. This provides exquisite look and feel to the soaps.
We then pour the formed soap solution into the moulds. This is when we make swirls or add artistic designs. The soaps are then left for drying. We dry the soaps naturally. We do not use any chemical or synthetic material to fasten the drying process.
Once the soap bar hardens, we take it out of the mould and cut it into bars. We again leave the cut soaps out to dry. This usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. This process is called curing. During this time, the soap bar dries further and hardens to become a long lasting lathering bar.
To minimize the curing time and to add lather to the soap bars, commercial manufacturing companies use chemicals like SLS and SLES. These chemicals are really harmful for your skin. Since, we cure the soaps naturally, our soaps are free of harmful chemicals.
After curing, we pack and label the soap bars. The labels provide you with the details of all the ingredients used. At Smishi, we only use biodegradable material for packing the soap bars. No plastics are used for the same. We do this to reduce waste and hence, to reduce any harmful effects caused to our ecosystem.
We aim to provide a pure and natural soap bar beneficial for you. In this attempt, we also attempt to minimize the waste produced, a step towards being sustainable as a whole. Hence, the soaps are harmless, toxins free, vegan, pure and natural in their form.
